VoicePuppet vs TTS.Monster
Compare setup, voices, moderation and on-stream presentation before choosing a Twitch text-to-speech tool.
Both tools read viewer messages aloud on stream. TTS.Monster is a free browser overlay that reads tips, Cheers, resubs and Channel Points. VoicePuppet is a Windows app that gives each message to a puppet, which speaks and reacts in OBS.
This comparison is published by VoicePuppet. Sources include TTS.Monster’s website, FAQ, dashboard help and settings, streamer guides and VTS P.O.G.’s documentation, checked on 25 October 2026. Products change, and a feature missing from its site is not proof that it cannot do it.

In detail
Setup and playback
VoicePuppet
VoicePuppet is a Windows desktop app that runs beside OBS. Playback and overlays run on your PC, and the app can set up its own OBS sources.
An approved channel links the app, which then publishes the channel’s voices to its page.
TTS.Monster
TTS.Monster is a web app. Its FAQ lists four steps: sign in, add your StreamElements, Streamlabs or Ko-fi details, adjust your settings, then add the overlay URL to OBS.
Its FAQ says the TTS plays as soon as a donation arrives, and in some cases does not sync with your existing alerts overlay.
Its overlay plays audio only. Animated characters can be added through separate tools such as VTS P.O.G., which supports PNG, Live2D and 3D pets.
Voices and effects
VoicePuppet
Each channel has its own catalog: hosted Amazon Polly and Azure voices, plus voices from your own ElevenLabs or Fish Audio account.
Each voice can have a portrait and a Bits price. Viewers hear samples and build messages on your channel page, and you choose which puppet effects they can ask for.
TTS.Monster
TTS.Monster offers more than 100 AI voices and more than 100 sound bites.
Each streamer gets a TTS guide page that lists the voice tags, the sound bites and the minimum tip, Bits or resub for AI voices. Viewers start part of a message with a voice tag to pick its voice, up to five voices in one message.
Its settings have separate Standard TTS and AI TTS/sound-bite minimums for tips, Bits and resubs. The Standard and AI minimums can be equal.
Moderation
VoicePuppet
Messages can wait for Twitch AutoMod, blocked terms and optional manual approval.
Moderators sign in with Twitch and use a browser queue to preview waiting audio and remove a message before it plays. Your PC still plays the messages.
TTS.Monster
Its dashboard help says slurs are filtered automatically. Streamers can add custom banned words through StreamElements or Streamlabs.
Skip, mute and pause controls are available in its dashboard and the StreamElements or Streamlabs recent-events list.
Channel Points requests can require manual approval through Twitch’s reward queue when Skip Reward Requests Queue is disabled.
Cost and access
VoicePuppet
VoicePuppet is in private beta, and channel requests are reviewed by hand.
Hosted voices need no provider account. Voices from your own provider account follow that provider’s charges. The Bits price a viewer pays is the one you set.
TTS.Monster
Its site describes the streamer product as completely free. It also offers a separate developer API.
Switching from TTS.Monster
- Write down your setup. List your platforms, your voices, what triggers TTS and how your moderators skip a message.
- Request an invite. Sign in with Twitch on the streamer page and tell us about your channel. VoicePuppet for streamers
- Test it in OBS. After approval, follow the getting-started guide and make a short test recording. Getting started
- Keep a fallback. Keep TTS.Monster set up until VoicePuppet works on stream.
Warning: Do not let both tools speak the same event while you test. Both tools respond, and the message plays twice.
